The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, maintenance, and scalability of database systems. This role also involves close collaboration with development and DevOps teams to support business objectives and contribute to a stable, high-performing data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Database Management: The Senior Database Administrator will design, implement, and manage robust database architectures and infrastructure to support business applications and data requirements.

Performance Tuning: Responsibilities include monitoring and optimizing database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and efficient hardware resource allocation.

Backup and Recovery: The role involves implementing and maintaining reliable backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity, availability, and business continuity.

Security Management: Oversight of database security is essential, including managing user access controls, encryption practices, and adherence to security policies and regulatory standards.

Troubleshooting: The Senior Database Administrator will diagnose and resolve complex database issues, delivering timely support to minimize downtime and operational impact.

Collaboration: This position requires close partnership with software development, system administration, and DevOps teams to implement database solutions aligned with business needs.

Documentation: Responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed documentation covering database configurations, processes, and procedures to support consistency and compliance.

Innovation: The role includes evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance database management, performance, and security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with demonstrated experience in large-scale database environments.

  • Proficiency in major database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

  • Advanced expertise in SQL, database design, and performance tuning.

  • Experience in backup and recovery solutions, including disaster recovery planning.

  • Strong understanding of database security principles and industry best practices.

  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerShell).

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments.

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL) is considered a plus.

  • Experience with observability tools such as Grafana.

  • English level: B2–C1.

Desirable Skills

  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator).

  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra, as well as data warehousing solutions and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of data integration and ETL processes
