About the Position
Dexis is recruiting for an experienced Senior Strategic Planner to support U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) in integrating and synchronizing Department of Defense military activities with United States Government strategy. The position focuses on developing strategies, campaign plans, and concepts of operation that translate strategic objectives into coordinated activities across DoD components, USG agencies, allies, coalition members and regional partners. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
- Execute all aspects of the Joint Operational Planning Process including mission analysis, course of action development and analysis, comparison and decision support
- Conducting orderly handovers of plans for order development to those tasked with execution of the operation. Provide staff with the situational awareness and rationale for key decisions necessary to ensure that there is a coherent transition from planning to execution.
- Provide technical recommendations to joint planning teams regarding operational planning, execution systems, and joint doctrine Provide technical support in evaluating and coordinating USCENTCOM strategies, plans, and policies related to USCENTCOM AOR.
- Support implementation efforts across USCENTCOM Component Commands, Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, and Office of Secretary of Defense, counterparts in other Federal departments and agencies, Allies, Coalition members, and partner nations.
- Develop and deliver briefings to senior leaders on strategic planning matters
- Evaluate and coordinate USCENTCOM strategies, plans, and policies for the Area of Responsibility
- Provide analysis and recommendations recommendations, and draft products for planning efforts involving joint, interagency, and multinational partners
- Support joint planning teams in coordinating between staff and regional partner representatives
- Advise USCENTCOM Commander's staff on strategic and regional concerns
- Draft products including orders, analyses, estimates, and briefings for leadership
- Providing coordination of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and Mandatory Declassification Reviews (MDR) according to legal standards set by the various laws governing the processing, declassification, and release of information from designated USCENTCOM files. This includes thorough searching of files controlled by CCJ5 for information relevant for government personnel to determine declassification and ability to disseminate information based on a detailed knowledge of existing legal statutes and advising the CCJ5 on the FOIA and MDR Program in accordance with USCENTCOM directives to ensure plans and orders are properly safeguarded.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Graduate of JAWS, SAMS, SAASS, SAW, MAWS, or Senior Service College
- Minimum 5 years of joint strategic planning experience
- Minimum 3 years planning experience at Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters or Service Component headquarters
- Comprehensive knowledge of joint operational planning processes
- Experience in coordinating with interagency and multinational partners
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Possess and maintain a minimum-security clearance of Top Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Prior experience at USCENTCOM
- Experience leading joint planning teams
- Knowledge of CENTCOM Area of Responsibility
