Job Overview
Nipromec Oy Ltd is an international consulting and engineering company founded in 2003. We offer design and consulting services for multiple industries with emphasis on energy and construction. Nipromec offices in Finland are located in Rauma, Turku, Pori, Tampere, Mikkeli and Helsinki. Group has offices also in Malmö in Sweden and Erlangen in Germany.
We are now looking for a WIND ANALYST for a client project in Espoo for a fixed-term employment. The role requires willingness to travel (1-2 times a month).
The tasks of the Technical Services -team where the selected person will be working at, comprise of technical support in site selection, technical site pre-feasibility evaluation, plant design and layouts, techno-commercial optimization, technical support for permitting processes, wind-measurement campaigns, as well as technical Due Diligence of external 3rd party projects.
Main tasks include:
· Create wind-farm layouts for projects in development
· Energy yield assessments of wind projects in development
· Technical project management; Coordinate technical assignment workload with both technical colleagues (team-members with similar roles, and civil/grid experts) and project developers
Other responsibilities, depending on your expertise and skillset, may include:
· Overall technical support for wind development projects (technical drawings & descriptions, ice-throw risk assessment, noise and flickering analysis)
· Technical Due Diligence of 3rd-party Wind projects/portfolios
· Support in setting up, maintaining, or evaluating wind-measurement campaigns
· Develop our wind design methodologies, assumptions, and the tools we use as needed to ensure techno-commercially optimal projects.
· Wind site visits
· Support BESS projects with design, layout or noise-modelling
About you:
The role requires a balance of technical, business, project management, communication, and collaboration skills. You are proactive with the ability to handle multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. You are a team player, a quick learner, have outstanding communication, collaboration, and project management skills in a multi-cultural setting, and adapt easily to a dynamic working environment.
You are passionate about renewable energy and the energy transition. You are an open-minded individual with a great sense of humour and great social skills. You bring new ideas to the table, have a drive to develop ways of working further, and have an eye for detail, while keeping the big picture in focus.
We expect:
· Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering or similar field
· At least 1-2 years of pre-construction wind resource assessment
· Technical understanding of Wind-farm projects in general
· Experience with wind analysis and modelling/layout design tools (e.g. WindPRO, Openwind, WindFarmer, VindAI, WAsP or other CFD tools)
· Familiarity with GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS)
· Fluency in written and spoken Finnish and English
· Ability to travel for site visits (1-2 per month outside winter)
Beneficial skills for the role:
· Knowledge in the local permitting, development, operation and engineering processes and requirements of wind projects in the Nordics
· Wind noise modelling and visual impact
· Knowledge in BESS, Solar, and hybrid projects
· General energy business understanding; financial/cash-flow models, project profitability, electricity market
· Programming skills (e.g. python, matlab)
· Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 environment, and use of Copilot (or other LLM/AI-tools)
· Other Nordic languages (Swedish, Norwegian)
