 Position

We are looking to for Tax Assistant to be based out of the Firm’s office in Yangon, Myanmar.

Reports to: Partner, Director, Manager and Supervisor

Key external relationships: Clients, Government stake holders

Key internal relationships: Partners, Senior Managers, Managers and other staff

Position type: Full Time – Regular

Working Hour: Mon-Fri, 9:00 am –12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Location: Yangon, Myanmar

Main duties of the role:

As a Tax Assistant, you will be responsible and accountable for attending to all tax compliance functions for a portfolio of clients, including:

  • Assisting with Tax Practice Group projects under the supervision of a Project Manager;
  • Providing extensive administrative support to the Tax Practice Group;
  • Formatting documents, drafting documents based on existing templates;
  • Assisting with research and preparation of precedents;
  • Preparing and formatting letters, memos and other documentation;
  • Arranging and organizing practical filing of documents for the Practice Group (electronic and hard copy);
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the Supervisor and
  • Generally, work in collaboration with other translators, office staff and legal advisors;
  • Participate actively in the Firm’s business development efforts, including government relations and activities with various chambers of commerce, business clubs and other relevant groups;
  • Participate in knowledge management, professional development, and Firm administrative activities as required;
  • Undertake other duties as may be required of you from time to time.
  • You should at all times conduct yourself in a professional and ethical manner, and act in accordance with the Firm’s internal rules.

Requirements

Essential skills & experience:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting or related field;
  • Familiar with (Myanmar) tax laws and compliance procedures;
  • Comfortable with reading and preparing spreadsheets;
  • Confident in dealing directly with international and local clients;
  • Proficient in English;
  • Proactive and resourceful.

 Desirable:

  • Relevant experience at least two years.
