The ERP Implementation Lead will be responsible for designing, configuring, and delivering the new solution to meet business requirements, covering finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, and integrations. The role combines hands-on technical configuration, project management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring a successful go-live within scope, time, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central & Sales.
  • Own project governance, scope management, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and status reporting.
  • Manage change requests and scope variations.
  • Conduct discovery workshops to capture business processes, requirements, and pain points.
  • Design system configuration aligned with industry best practices and project scope.
  • Configure Business Central modules: Finance, Purchasing, Inventory, Sales, and Payables/Receivables.
  • Configure Dynamics 365 Sales for lead/opportunity management, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Implement integrations including: ConnectWise (via mConnect app), HubSpot Marketing Professional, ACSISS Connect for bank feeds, Power BI dashboards
  • Implement extensions such as Sales Quoting improvements, Purchase Order automation, and document layouts via third-party integration or custom development.
  • Prepare functional specifications for enhancements and validate delivered solutions.
  • Define data migration strategy (customers, vendors, items, COA, open balances).
  • Oversee data cleansing, transformation, and validation.
  • Enable reporting across Business Central & Sales using Power BI.
  • Deliver role-based training sessions to finance, operations, and sales teams.
  • Support development of SOPs and training materials.
  • Drive adoption and manage change resistance.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and cutover activities.
  • Manage system walk-throughs, test cutovers, and issue resolution.
  • Provide on-site hypercare during go-live.

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience in ERP implementation, with at least 3 years in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV.
  • Proven end-to-end project delivery of ERP systems (including finance, inventory, and sales).
  • Strong knowledge of financials, supply chain, and CRM workflows.
  • Hands-on configuration skills in Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales.
  • Experience with system integrations (e.g., PSA tools like ConnectWise, APIs, third-party apps).
  • Proficiency with Power BI reporting and data modelling.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and training skills.
  • Strong project management experience (formal certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum an advantage). 

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Australian GST requirements
  • Familiarity with ACSISS Connect (bank feed integration).
  • Previous consulting / partner-side experience.
  • Background in IT services or MSP industry operations. 

Performance Indicators

  • Successful go-live of Business Central & Sales within agreed budget and timeline.
  • High user adoption and satisfaction scores post go-live.
  • Accurate, reconciled data migrated from legacy systems.
  • Reduction in manual rework between systems (measured against pre-project baseline).
  • Delivery of required reports and dashboards in Power BI.
