Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer existing workflows and automations, expected to propose implementation options and recommendations, not just identify problems or escalate questions.
  • Build reusable automation components, recipes, integration patterns, and internal playbooks to improve margin and scalability
  • Produce client-ready workflow diagrams, SOPs, and handover notes suitable for operational support without senior involvement.
  • Design and build new automations across a full automation stack, including system integrations and workflow logic.
  • Own automation delivery outcomes end-to-end, increasing delivery throughput while reducing dependency on senior staff.
  • Take full ownership of assigned automation workstreams, including build, testing, documentation, deployment, and handover with minimal oversight.
  • Interpret and communicate automation workflows clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Apply a business analyst style approach to day-to-day work (gathering requirements, documenting processes, validating workflows, clarifying outcomes)
  • Contribute to successful delivery across client automation projects, with a focus on enabling progress and solving problems proactively
  • Work within Agile/Kanban environments and maintain workflow visibility through internal systems (e.g., Jira or similar tools
  • Support medium-to-enterprise client engagements, including lift-and-shift and integration-focused workstreams
  • Operate autonomously: able to deliver complete solutions asynchronously without requiring step-by-step direction.
  • Provide written weekly delivery updates, Loom walkthroughs, and clear async communication to minimise meetings and dependency.
  • This role requires ownership, accountability, and the ability to deliver independently in client environments.
  • Automations are not complete until exception handling, monitoring, documentation, and client-ready handover are implemented.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge & Technical Prerequisites:
  • Mid-to-senior level experience in automation engineering and/or system integrations
  • Strong experience with Wakadoo (preferred) OR deep experience with NA10 (minimum requirement if not Wakadoo)
  • Demonstrated capability in designing and implementing automation workflows across multiple systems
  • Experience working with SaaS applications and integrating multiple platforms (APIs, middleware, data flows)
  • Proven ability to work within environments that may include:
  • React / React Native front-end landscapes
  • Cloud infrastructure such as Azure and/or AWS
  • Platforms such as Vercel and Supabase
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools such as Jira / Atlassian Suite (or equivalent Kanban/Scrum systems)
  • Experience supporting eCommerce and logistics-heavy environments is highly favourable
  • Exposure to platforms such as Shopify and/or BigCommerce is advantageous
  • Comfortable working across delivery environments where independence and initiative are required (not relying on large teams to complete work)

Certifications [highly regarded]

  • Wakadoo certification (highly regarded and preferred where applicable)
  • Ideally, with visibility on the certification level and when it was achieved
  • Any relevant automation/integration certifications or training credentials (where available)
  • Candidates should be willing to provide uploaded copies of certification evidence where applicable

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication (essential)
  • Strong workflow explanation skills (ability to map and communicate processes clearly)
  • Confident, proactive problem solver with an enabling mindset
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership to move client outcomes forward
  • Culturally aligned, team-oriented, and able to assimilate well into an existing delivery team
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure in evolving delivery environments
  • Client-facing professionalism and confidence
