Position Overview

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help define and build the next generation of our SaaS platform. This role combines hands-on engineering with high-level technical leadership. You will influence architecture, guide engineering direction, and mentor senior engineers.

A key focus of this role is building secure, scalable, serverless systems on AWS (TypeScript, Node.js, IaC) and leading the modernization of core platform components.
You will also help integrate AI capabilities across the product ecosystem, ensuring security, transparency, governance, and responsible use.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and influence long-term engineering and architectural strategy.

  • Lead platform evolution and identify scalable, reusable solutions.

  • Review and guide architectural decisions focused on performance, security, and maintainability.

AI Engineering & Governance

  • Shape AI-related architecture and design decisions.

  • Build or integrate AI-enabled systems with transparency, monitoring, and governance.

  • Ensure readiness for regulatory and compliance requirements related to AI.

  • Mentor teams on AI fundamentals, model behavior, prompt engineering, and responsible AI use.

  • Act as an internal thought leader in AI adoption and best practices.

Engineering Excellence

  • Architect secure, scalable, serverless applications using TypeScript and AWS.

  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation) to automate deployments.

  • Build distributed systems using AWS services like DynamoDB, Aurora, S3, Lambda, and EventBridge.

  • Develop RESTful APIs (Node.js / TypeScript) and modern UI frameworks (Angular/React).

  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance.

  • Promote automation, resilience, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Mentor engineers and support a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.


Required Experience & Skills

  • 15+ years of experience building secure, production-grade applications.

  • Strong understanding of AI concepts, including model behavior, prompting, AI safety, and governance.

  • Experience building or integrating AI-powered systems with monitoring, transparency, and compliance considerations.

  • Ability to mentor teams on AI adoption and best practices.

  • Expertise in AWS architecture, serverless patterns, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation).

  • Strong experience with distributed data systems (Aurora, DynamoDB, S3).

  • Strong knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture.

  • Proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript, REST API design, and UI frameworks (Angular/React).

  • Experience with Docker and modern CI/CD practices.

  • Strong SQL and database optimization skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work across multiple teams and influence large-scale technical decisions.
