Automation Shop Welder Fabricator – Comstock Park, MI

What you will get to do:
- Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings accurately.
- Fabricate and weld components for industrial machinery and assemblies using MIG and TIG processes.
- Fabricate parts using saws, grinders, shears, brakes, and other shop tools.
- Assemble mechanical systems and automation equipment per engineering drawings and schematics.
- Perform quality checks and make adjustments as needed to meet specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and electricians to ensure proper fit and function of assemblies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Effectively collaborate with management and team members.
- Assist in training new team members on welding techniques and shop safety.
- Team Building: Foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among all team members.
What will make you successful:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
- 3+ years of welding/fabrication experience in a machine shop or automation environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems is a plus.
- AWS certification is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
