Job Overview

About The Role

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to spearhead the design and delivery of our next-generation digital healthcare platform. This isn’t just about writing code - it’s about setting the technical direction, coaching a growing team of engineers, and ensuring we build systems that scale, delight users, and stand the test of time.

We’re not just maintaining what exists - we’re rebuilding from the ground up. This is your opportunity to strip away technical debt, reimagine the platform, and lay down the foundations for a faster, smarter, and more resilient product.

This is a remote role accepting applications from candidates across Australia.

What You'll Own

  • Set the technical direction and define the architecture for a scalable, secure, and reliable healthcare platform.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Own key initiatives end-to-end, from technical design to implementation, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with engineering leadership, product and design leads to shape roadmaps, prioritise trade-offs, and balance innovation with stability.
  • Guide best practices in engineering, testing, and DevOps, ensuring our stack evolves with the business.
  • Establish coding standards and conduct reviews that raise the bar for quality and maintainability.
  • Champion performance, security, and compliance, especially in the context of sensitive health data.
  • Advocate for technical excellence, while keeping an eye on delivery timelines and business impact.

What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a Tech Lead/Staff role.
  • Proven track record in leading technical projects and mentoring teams.
  • Expertise in Typescript, Node.js, and React, with the ability to make pragmatic trade-offs.
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, scaling, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of security best practices, compliance, and data privacy regulations.
  • A strong bias towards testing and building with quality from the start.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in digital health, alternative medicine, or other highly regulated industries (preferred but not required).

What We Offer

  • Work From Anywhere in Australia. 🌍
  • A competitive salary and awesome benefits package. 💰
  • A supportive and positive work environment. 🌟
  • Opportunities to grow and develop your career. 📈
  • Opportunity to transform lives through alternative medicine. 💡
