What's the opportunity?

As our Communications Specialist, you will help us strengthen dLocal’s global reputation across emerging markets. This role will focus on elevating our brand visibility and credibility. The job holder will have ownership over strategic corporate events, awards, and partnerships, while tasked with translating these into impactful digital content that drives thought leadership and supports Corporate Communications KPIs. You will play a key role in engaging high-value audiences, including governments, regulators, banks, and strategic partners, who are critical to our growth and are often best reached through direct engagement.

We are a small and tight-knit team and the communications specialist will also support earned and owned media tasks, including but not limited to dealing with press enquiries, drafting press releases and creating social media content.

What will I be doing?

  • Own the end-to-end events strategy to position dLocal as a trusted EM payments partner (speaking slots, panels, media engagement, logistics, stakeholder alignment, post-event follow-up).
  • Build and manage a high-impact awards pipeline; lead submissions with cross-functional input and amplify wins across owned/earned channels.
  • Develop strategic partnerships (associations, accelerators, industry influencers) that expand reach and unlock co-branded panels, content, and initiatives.
  • Translate event and partnership activity into multi-format digital content (LinkedIn, blog, video) that reinforces thought leadership and supports KPIs.
  • Draft/review press materials (releases, pitches), manage inbound media requests, coordinate interviews, and maintain up-to-date media lists.
  • Prepare executive briefings and draft/edit op-eds to position leaders as credible industry voices.
  • Commission and manage vendors for content production (video/creative); support Investor Relations with video and social deliverables.
  • Partner with Product, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to source subject-matter insights and align initiatives to business priorities.
  • Identify and implement automation to streamline workflows (event/task trackers, speaker outreach, content scheduling, media monitoring, CRM tagging), improving speed, consistency, and auditability.
  • Build lightweight dashboards and reporting (coverage quality, share of voice, engagement, event ROI) to track KPIs and inform continuous optimization.

What skills do I need?

  • 4–7 years in corporate communications/PR; payments/fintech or financial services experience preferred; understanding of emerging markets is a plus.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling, able to simplify complex payments/regulatory topics for senior, external audiences.
  • Proven experience in events, partnerships, and media engagement with strong stakeholder management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; comfortable operating strategically and hands-on across regions.
  • Automation mindset: data-driven, comfortable with comms/ops tools, experienced identifying and implementing workflow improvements.
  • Advanced English (mandatory); additional languages (e.g., Spanish/Portuguese) are a plus.
