Editor - Energy platform
Job Overview
JOB PURPOSE:
Plan, manage and execute the end-to-end production cycle of editorial content across platforms for the global energy sector, spanning in-depth articles, exclusive features, written and video interviews, and engaging multimedia reports. Working as a key member of the editorial team, actively identify and execute opportunities for content diversification and platform expansion to drive business growth.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Plan, write, and edit articles, features, and daily digital news stories from across the energy industry – both as assigned and through own initiatives.
- Monitor news updates and industry trends to develop content agenda and ensure that the content remains timely and ahead of competition.
- Support with planning and managing the Editorial calendar and assist the Editor-in-Chief with ad hoc project management and research as needed.
- Ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and relevant to our target audience.
- Handle a variety of multimedia and digital storytelling modes such as video interviews, podcasts and webinars as needed and assigned.
- Handle tight project deadlines for major external and internal clients at a short notice while working to enhance content quality and coverage scope.
- Contribute to the development of new editorial ideas and product concepts.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing team members to support our commercial goals – teamwork, open communication and a can-do spirit are vital in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
• 5-7 years of editorial experience, preferably as a business journalist.
• Proven track record of producing high-quality content in various formats, including digital publishing.
• Excellent eye for breaking news as well as excellent grammar, editing, writing and proofreading skills.
• Comfortable in dealing with new types of content across digital and social media platforms.
• Experience in digital publishing technology, handling Editorial content management systems (CMS) and SEO best practices.
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and outstanding attention to detail.
• Ability to handle conflicting priorities and manage tight deadlines with strong time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the energy industry and its key sectors is highly preferred.
