Job Purpose
We are seeking a Technical Data Management Specialist with strong, hands-on expertise in data engineering, analytics, and financial data operations. This role requires end-to-end ownership of data feeds supporting C&S, M&R, E&I, revenue, membership, and financial systems.
The ideal candidate will act as a data SME, drive remediation of process gaps and data quality issues, and deliver automated, scalable data solutions using SAS, Python, Power BI, Snowflake, and Databricks. This position plays a critical role in building automated data pipelines, data repositories, reporting solutions, and robust financial analytics.
Requirements
Data Engineering & Systems Ownership
- Own end-to-end data feeds across C&S, M&R, E&I, accounting, revenue, membership, and financial data ecosystems.
- Transform large datasets from disparate systems into actionable business intelligence.
- Build automated processes, data repositories, and reporting layers using SAS, Python, Power BI, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data issues and process inefficiencies, driving corrective actions.
Analysis, Reporting & Automation
- Develop scalable analytics, reconciliations, and controls using the UHC SAS Fin360 framework.
- Create robust automated pipelines and business rules to streamline data validation and reporting.
- Contribute to financial and operational analyses supporting organizational decision-making.
Project Execution & Collaboration
- Work within a team structure to solve complex or ambiguous business problems.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, and development activities.
- Collaborate across business, IT, finance, and data engineering teams to deliver innovative data solutions.
Testing, Migration & Quality Assurance
- Participate in UAT cycles, system migration initiatives, and integration efforts.
- Partner with IT teams to support testing, defect detection, troubleshooting, and production deployments.
- Ensure data accuracy, system reliability, and adherence to SLAs.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with cross-functional teams using the Fin360 framework to develop customer-centric solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation.
- Support the Financial Data Management group with additional bandwidth across C&S, M&R, and E&I.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong hands-on experience with SAS, Python, Power BI, Snowflake, and/or Databricks.
- Proven experience working with financial, membership, or healthcare data systems.
- Strong SQL/data transformation skills.
- Experience handling large complex datasets from disparate systems.
- Working knowledge of automated data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality controls.
- Experience in UAT, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UHC Fin360 framework.
- Prior experience supporting C&S, M&R, E&I business groups.
- Experience in healthcare payer, insurance, or financial data domains.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation, audit controls, and financial reporting.
- Experience with Cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering tools.
