Job Purpose

The Java Consultant - Salesforce is responsible for designing, building, and enhancing custom applications on the Salesforce platform. This role focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions by leveraging Salesforce technologies, custom development, and integration practices. The developer ensures systems are optimized for usability, reliability, automation, and smooth data flow across platforms.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and enhance Salesforce applications using Lightning Web Components, Apex, and other platform tools.
  • Architect and implement solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem, including custom objects, workflows, APIs, and automation tools.
  • Perform deployments, code migrations, and data migrations using SFDX CLI and related utilities.
  • Build integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and connect Salesforce with external systems.
  • Create and maintain Lightning Components, triggers, classes, validations, and Visualforce pages.
  • Ensure adherence to Salesforce governor limits, data model best practices, and platform performance standards.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and release management processes.
  • Write efficient SOQL, SQL, and SOSL queries for data operations and optimization.
  • Develop mobile-ready functionality and contribute to user experience enhancements.
  • Produce technical documentation including design specs, integration notes, and test results.
  • Support Agile/Scrum workflows, sprint planning, and collaborative development cycles.
  • Maintain high code quality through unit testing and coverage compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce development, including Apex, LWC, Visualforce, and custom application architecture.
  • Expertise with Salesforce data model, APIs, workflows, automation, and platform configuration.
  • Proficiency in SFDX CLI, deployments, and CI/CD automation processes.
  • Experience building integrations using REST/SOAP and connecting Salesforce to external platforms.
  • Skilled in Java, J2EE frameworks, and modern frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
  • Ability to write efficient SQL, SOQL, and SOSL queries.
  • Experience with Data Loader, Bulk API, Streaming API, and related data tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum.
  • Salesforce certifications (one or more required).
  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience designing large-scale Salesforce architectures or complex platform customizations.
  • Hands-on experience integrating automation frameworks and testing tools.
  • Knowledge of open-source Java frameworks and full-stack development practices.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and provide solution guidance.
  • Experience working with cross-platform integrations and enterprise-scale workflows.
  • Salesforce Trailhead Expeditioner or Ranger status.
  • Florida-based candidates are strongly preferred.
