The CTS Forman is a working foreman overseeing production, quality and safety and is responsible for
the completion of all work at the direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent. The CTS
Foreman is expected to provide training to apprentice, journeymen, and other field personnel onsite.

The CTS Forman is a working foreman overseeing production, quality and safety and is responsible for
the completion of all work at the direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent. The CTS
Foreman is expected to provide training to apprentice, journeymen, and other field personnel onsite.
- Understands how various trades interact during the tank building process and can direct the
- work as required and uses that knowledge to complete rehabilitation and retrofit projects.
- Establishes crews, assigns responsibilities and follows through on assigned work to meet the
- budgeted man-hours.
- Reads and interprets tank drawings and construction information package to ensure work is
- performed according to specifications.
- Inventories material upon delivery to ensure components comply with the contract drawings
- prior to signature.
- Participates in a daily closeout meeting with the Superintendent providing an update on the
- day’s activities and needs for the following day.
- Follows quality control (QC) program, understands construction tolerances, and reports any
- quality defects immediately.
- Checks and confirms elevation grades and plumbness on critical tank components.
- Follows safety procedures and understands DN Tanks safety policies.
- Develops task hazard analysis (THA) and reviews with the crew.
- Identifies hazards, takes action to correct them, and is responsible for recognizing those who do
- the same in accordance with the Award of Excellence (AOE) Program.
- Stops employees and subcontractors from performing unsafe acts and working in hazardous
- conditions.
- Promotes clean, safe work practices by watching over other employees while performing work.
- Follows quality control (QC) program, understands construction tolerances, and reports any
- quality defects immediately.
- Provides coaching and training while motivating the team to produce quality work and ensure
- all safety standards are met with all individuals on the project.
- Maintains all certifications in compliance with DN Tanks Safety & Equipment Programs.
- Signals operator during any construction activities requiring a crane.
- Performs all jobsite layout utilizing survey equipment under direction of the Superintendent.
- Supports the training program by working closely with other traveling tank builders and utilizing
- all resources available in DN University.
- Provides training feedback to the Superintendent in order to advance the knowledge, skills, and
- abilities of all our traveling tank builders.
- CTS
- Analyze problem areas, communicate to Project Manager/Engineering and direct
- crew in completing repairs.
- Communicate effectively with the office, owners and engineers to keep all apprised
- of project status.
- Leads the crew in evaluating, removing and repairing concrete as required.
- Leads the crew in erecting and dismantling shoring, scaffolding and staging.
- Lead the crew in prestress wire/strand removal and replacement utilizing
- wire/strand stressing techniques.
- Lead the crew in repairing existing appurtenances to include ladders, hatches, and
- vents.
- Lead the crew in performing tank chlorination procedures and leakage tests.
- Lead the crew in repairing seepage and leakage utilizing standard DN Tanks’
- injection methods.
- Performs QC Inspections.
- Uses a transit and laser level to confirm benchmark and survey control.
- Follows all confined space procedures at all times.
- Arrives to the project site with enough time to prepare themselves for work prior to the start of
- the shift.
- Operate and maintain DN Tanks tools and equipment including pressure washer, coating and
- epoxy injection pumps.
- Ability to set up and use all survey equipment.
- Inspect materials being used to ensure product quality and integrity.
- Working knowledge of carpentry skills.
- Knowledge of and decision making ability regarding surface preparation for coatings.
- Understanding the impact of and making the decision regarding environmental conditions for
- coating applications.
- Take ownership of the maintenance of DN Tanks tools and equipment.
- Makes decisions on materials and equipment to be used to best perform the work.
- Should be a team player and have the ability of coordinating work with other team members.
- Ability to take direction from skilled members regardless of craft or title and ask questions as
- needed.
- Lead yourself first by being coachable, respectful, and having a consistently positive attitude
