Position Overview
The Strategic Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening long-term customer relationships within a defined multi-state territory. This role requires a highly disciplined, relationship-driven sales professional who can operate autonomously while remaining fully aligned with Door Controls USA’s sales strategy, operational standards, and core values.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Actively promote, present, and sell automatic door parts, hardware, and related solutions through in-person visits, phone calls, and virtual meetings.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan focused on revenue growth, margin improvement, and account penetration.
- Identify, prospect, and convert new accounts while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
- Understand and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close and post-sale follow-up.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations tailored to customer needs and applications.
Territory & Travel Management
- Maintain a minimum travel schedule of two weeks per month within the assigned territory.
- Plan, schedule, and execute customer visits efficiently to maximize sales impact and territory coverage.
- Prepare and submit customer trip reports for all account visits in accordance with company standards.
Account Management & Customer Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Identify customer needs, resolve concerns, and coordinate internal resources to ensure satisfaction.
- Communicate customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive insights to internal stakeholders.
- Analyze account data and sales trends to develop action plans and growth strategies.
Internal Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales, VP of Sales, Customer Relations, and ownership on pricing strategies, account plans, and policy alignment.
- Accurately maintain CRM and other company systems with timely, complete sales and activity data.
- Gather, enter, and manage all required work data electronically in Door Controls USA systems.
- Prepare and submit expense reports in compliance with company policies.
Product & Industry Knowledge
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of Door Controls USA products, services, applications, and industry standards.
- Stay informed on industry trends, customer challenges, and competitor offerings.
Company Representation & Compliance
- Uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain and safeguard company-issued equipment (computer, phone, etc.) and report discrepancies promptly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support company objectives.
Performance Accountability & Success Metrics
Performance in this role will be evaluated based on, but not limited to:
- Achievement of assigned sales, revenue, and margin goals
- New account acquisition and account growth
- Quality and consistency of CRM data, reports, and documentation
- Customer retention, satisfaction, and issue resolution

Education & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience (automatic door industry preferred)
- Demonstrated understanding of the full sales cycle
- Experience with Dynamics CRM and NAV is a plus
- Relationship-based selling experience preferred (training available)
- Knowledge of short and long sales cycles preferred (training available)
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting, driving, and working on a computer
Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory
