Head of Operations
Job Overview
We’re hiring a Head of Operations, based in Dallas, TX, to build the operational backbone that keeps our field organization running like a well-oiled machine — the execution arm of account management, responsible for device availability, movement, and uptime across every site nationwide.
This is a step up from field-level coordination. You’re not running installs yourself day to day — you’re building the SOPs, systems, and team, including our field coordination coaches nationwide, that make installs, service, and device uptime predictable at scale, with very little room for error.
How the role works: build, run, deliver
-
Build — set the operational backbone. Design and own the SOPs that turn field operations from tribal knowledge into a repeatable, scalable system.
-
Run — lead the field team. Manage and grow the field organization into a well-oiled machine that is the execution arm of account management.
-
Deliver — keep devices live. Own device availability, movement, and uptime nationwide, and work with the right stakeholders to fix what’s slipping, fast.
What you’ll own
-
Build and own SOPs for field operations — the playbook covering installation, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, and escalation, so quality doesn’t depend on any one person’s memory.
-
Lead and scale the field team — hire, coach, and manage field coordination coaches across the U.S., and turn a growing, distributed team into a well-oiled machine.
-
Be the execution arm of account management — once accounts are signed, your team is what gets devices installed, adopted, and running well; you own that handoff and everything after it.
-
Own device availability, movement, and uptime — track inventory, shipping and logistics, deployment, and uptime metrics nationwide, and act fast the moment they slip.
-
Build operational planning and resourcing systems — scheduling, travel and logistics planning, and efficient use of field resources across many facilities at once.
-
Own compliance and quality in the field — HIPAA, safety, and infection-control standards, and accurate documentation of installs and service, enforced consistently as the team scales.
-
Partner cross-functionally — work with Product and Engineering on device and hardware issues, with Sales and Account Management on account health, and with Clinical on workflows.
-
Be the escalation point for complex issues — step in personally when something is too big for the field team to resolve on its own.
-
Report operational health to leadership — uptime, deployment velocity, and field team performance, translated into clear metrics for the CEO/Founder and other stakeholders.
Experience we’re looking for
-
7–10+ years in field operations, clinical operations, or medical device / healthcare technology operations, including experience managing and scaling a distributed field team.
-
Experience building SOPs and operational systems from scratch, not just following an existing playbook.
-
Experience in SNFs or long-term care operations strongly preferred.
-
A track record owning device or asset uptime, logistics, or inventory at scale across many sites.
-
Comfortable being the operational owner accountable to account management and sales for on-the-ground execution.
-
Willingness to travel nationwide to support the field team and visit sites as needed.
Skills that set you up to win
-
Builder mindset. You build the SOPs and systems that make a scaling field team predictable, rather than reacting site by site.
-
Field leadership. You know how to coach, manage, and hold a distributed team accountable from a distance.
-
Systems thinker. You build operational infrastructure once, then let it scale, instead of re-solving the same problem at every new site.
-
Execution partner to sales. You understand that your team’s execution is what makes account management’s promises real.
-
Data-driven operator. You track uptime, device movement, and field performance, and act on it before it becomes a customer issue.
-
Compliance rigor. You build a fast-scaling field org that never cuts corners on HIPAA, safety, or documentation.
-
Cross-functional fluency. You work naturally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Clinical to solve problems at the root.
-
High ownership at founder speed. You move fast, make calls with incomplete information, and take responsibility for outcomes nationwide.
