About the role

DroneShield is seeking a HR Generalist to support its growing European workforce based out of the Amsterdam office. This is a standalone HR position in the region, supporting employees across the Netherlands and other European countries.

The role reports to the Director of People & Performance, based in Australia, with a dotted line to the Director of Talent Acquisition. The position combines HR operations, employee lifecycle management and recruitment support in a fast-paced global environment.

You will act as a trusted partner to managers and employees across Europe, supporting HR administration, onboarding, employee experience, recruitment coordination and Employer of Record (EOR) management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable processes, operating autonomously and working across multiple countries and jurisdictions.

This is a hybrid role requiring attendance in the Amsterdam office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations 

  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees across the Netherlands and broader European region
  • Manage relationships with Employer of Record (EOR) providers across multiple countries, ensuring smooth onboarding, off-boarding, payroll coordination and compliance processes
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle administration including contracts, contract variations, probation reviews, leave management and employee records
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data and support ongoing process improvements and system optimisation
  • Partner with managers and the global People team to provide day-to-day HR support and guidance
  • Support recruitment activities across Europe, including job postings, candidate coordination, interview scheduling, candidate screening and offer management, conduct reference checks
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition to deliver an efficient and positive candidate experience
  • Coordinate onboarding processes for new employees across different European jurisdictions
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of HR policies, procedures and documentation aligned with local employment legislation
  • Prepare HR reports, maintain employee data integrity and support compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Payroll and Talent Acquisition stakeholders across multiple time zones

Qualifications, Experience and Skills 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a HR Generalist, HR Advisor, People & Culture Coordinator or similar role
  • Previous experience supporting multiple European countries highly regarded
  • Experience managing or partnering with Employer of Record (EOR) providers preferred
  • Exposure to recruitment and talent acquisition processes
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously in a standalone regional role
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using HRIS and ATS platforms
  • Comfortable working across multiple time zones and collaborating with international teams
  • Fluent English communication skills required; additional European languages highly regarded
