The Drug Hunter research team distills the science behind emerging drugs and technologies into concise but scientifically rich, searchable reports. Drug Hunter subscribers include many of the world’s leading innovative biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and top-tier investors.

The Research Analyst-Modalities and Drug Design will play a crucial role in expanding the current Drug Hunter content by creating reviews on exciting modalities and emerging concepts in drug design. Creating high-quality content for Drug Hunter’s audience of industry professionals is at the heart of this role and requires scientific expertise, a strong understanding of industry trends, and exceptional communication skills to distill complex information into engaging resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researches and interprets primary scientific sources (peer-reviewed journals, FDA/government docs, expert interviews) and communicates this information with scientific rigor and accuracy. 
  • Translates complex drug discovery and design concepts into clear, engaging content tailored to diverse audiences that meets publishing goals and industry needs.
  • Stays current on medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and cutting-edge drug discovery trends in pharma and biotech, and uses this knowledge to propose new scientific content and initiatives 
  • Reviews and fact-checks content from contributors, ensuring scientific accuracy and more broadly fosters the mission-driven editorial culture of constructive feedback and collaboration.
  • Quickly and accurately prepares tables, figures, and illustrations that enhance written content and provide meaningful visualization of complex ideas or topics.
  • Fosters a positive culture within the industry and editorial team aligned with the mission and values of the company, prioritizing facts, community, clarity, helpfulness, teamwork, and accountability

Requirements

  • Strong track record of well-researched and well-presented articles on relevant topics for audiences in the life sciences 
  • Advanced degree (PhD, and/or post-doc) in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, or a closely related discipline with 2+ years of experience working in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries
  • Demonstrated ability to pick up new fields of expertise quickly and work with agility in a growth environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as decision-making, leadership, and analytical skills, ability to make reasoned decisions, contribute to and lead cross-functional teams, and excellent organizational skills

Drug Hunter takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location.
