ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Risk Officer to support the Head of Risk in building and maintaining a practical and robust risk framework. This role blends deep knowledge of EU regulatory requirements with strong project management skills to translate policies into working processes, dashboards, and effective decision-making tools. You will coordinate risk initiatives end to end, maintain key metrics and limits, support regulatory cycles, and contribute to closing audit and supervisory actions across the firm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the Risk Management Policy, Trading Book & Hedging Policy, and related procedures
- Support the annual ICARA cycle, including capital and liquidity assessments, stress testing, wind-down analysis, and documentation
- Coordinate DORA-related activities such as ICT risk registers, incident logging, and third-party controls
- Assist with exposure and limits monitoring, maintaining exception logs, and managing escalations
- Review risk metrics and support the development of stress and scenario packs with clear commentary for management
- Maintain the incident register, track actions and closure evidence, and follow up with owners on deadlines
- Conduct third-party risk assessments for banks, liquidity providers, brokers, and critical vendors, and maintain the outsourcing register
- Manage trackers for all risk-related projects including policies, audits, remediation, and systems, ensuring timely delivery
- Coordinate cross-department deliverables across Dealing, Compliance, Finance, and IT with defined timelines and escalation paths
- Prepare material for Risk Committee and Board meetings, covering key risks, breaches, KRI trends, and regulatory updates
- Maintain a structured evidence repository, including workpapers, version control, and sign-offs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent English
- 3–6 years of experience in risk or audit within a regulated financial firm, ideally with CySEC or ESMA exposure
- Knowledge of ICARA (IFR/IFD), MiFID II, EMIR, and an understanding of DOR
- Strong grounding in finance, equities, accounting fundamentals, probability, statistics, time-series concepts, market microstructure, and basic derivatives
- Demonstrated project management capabilities, including planning, stakeholder follow-ups, and on-time delivery
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to structure data and verify metrics
- Clear written communication and strong documentation habits.
