You’ll play a key role in keeping our electricity network efficient, resilient and ready for the future.

As our GIS Analyst, you’ll turn spatial data into clear insights that support network planning, asset management and field operations. Your work will help shape decisions that keep our community across the Waipā district powered and connected.

What you’ll enjoy

You’ll use your GIS expertise to turn geospatial data into practical tools and insights that support real-world decisions. Your mahi will include:

·         Managing and maintaining GIS and asset data, ensuring it’s accurate and reliable

·         Carrying out spatial analysis and modelling to support planning and decision-making

·         Creating maps, dashboards and reports that clearly communicate results

·         Developing and automating GIS workflows using Python, FME and ArcGIS tools

·         Supporting field teams through GIS mobile apps and data collection

·         Integrating GIS solutions into wider business processes

·         Staying up to date with GIS technology and best practice.

About you

You bring strong technical skills, a practical mindset and a genuine desire to keep learning. You enjoy working with others and understand how good data supports better outcomes for the Waipā district.

You’ll also bring:

·         A tertiary qualification in GIS, Engineering, Geography, Surveying, IT or a related field

·         Three to five years’ GIS experience, ideally within utilities or infrastructure

·         Proven experience with the ESRI stack, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps and Survey123

·         Skills in Python and FME for data transformation and workflow automation

·         Experience managing as-built information, asset data and geospatial analysis to support network planning or optimisation

·         Clear communication skills, strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
