About the Opportunity

At Real Pet Food Co, you’ll work on some of Australia’s most loved and trusted pet food brands, including Ivory Coat, Fussy Cat, VIP, Billy & Margot, Nature’s Gift, Love ‘Em, Trilogy and Stockman & Paddock.

We are excited to welcome a new Production Shift Manager for our Day Shift based at our Ingleburn Manufacturing Site. This role will report to the Production Manager and will develop the shift as a team with a culture of safety, consistency and responsibility and will ensure reliable delivery of quality products achieved in highly efficient manner.


What you'll do in this role:

  • Effectively manage performance and disciplinary issues in alignment with established performance management processes. This is for both RPF employees and Labour Hire

  • Foster a positive change culture by facilitating open communication and collaboration among team members.

  • Work closely with our Quality Assurance team to ensure lines meet our high standards required to run throughout the day

  • Coordinate training programs to ensure a well-balanced skill set within the team and establish clear succession plans for future needs. This includes daily tool-box talks at the beginning of shift as well as any more formal training on equipment and processes.

  • Model positive leadership behaviours and actively foster professional growth and development of your team members.

  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and maintaining systems and practices compliant with corporate and legal health and safety requirements.

  • Work collaboratively in a solutions-focused manner with key stakeholders such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and Safety. This could include helping our Maintenance team with predictive repairs, proactively flagging any safety issues before they arise, or working closely with Quality to ensure the raw proteins are in premium condition

You are:

  • An experienced production line leader with FMCG/Manufacturing experience ideally within Food Manufacturing. This role represents a step forward for you into a business that can offer job stability and/or career development opportunities.

  • Known to be able to effectively and maturely manage staff performance issues, ensuring adherence to company policies, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Able to thrive in high-pressure environments while effectively managing priorities, including stakeholder communication, and ensuring operational continuity amidst plant breakdowns and maintenance activities, all while maintaining delivery targets (DIFOT).

  • A Strong advocate for open and effective communication, both within the team and with leadership, to facilitate collaboration and alignment towards shared goals.

  • Skilled in developing and enhancing team capability through personalised support, coaching, and opportunities for personal development.

  • Experienced in consulting with supervisors on various operational aspects such as rostering, planning, and scheduling to optimise workforce efficiency and minimise overtime.
