Job Summary

Assists the Director, Financial Control in managing overall responsibility for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Bank’s General Ledger ensuring delivery of its objectives.

Along with other members of the financial control team responsible for a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and ensure the integrity of IFRS reporting and any other internal financial reporting required.

Includes preparation of financial accounts in accordance with IFRS and preparation of management information.

Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities

General Ledger Integrity and Controls

· Along with other members of the financial control team responsible for maintaining the accuracy, completeness and integrity of the general ledger and reporting systems.

· Set up of new accounts, deletion of dormant accounts and maintenance of GL mappings

· Assist with daily P&L and B/S checks

· Assisting the monthly general ledger close including posting manual entries for cost and overheads, lease accounting, suspending interest on non-performing loans, payroll journals, fixed assets booking etc

· Reviews P&L mapping to ensure correct segmentation of income

Reconciliations and Reporting

· Performs monthly reconciliations including on the Bank’s rep offices, supplier statements, FOBO recs

· Preparation of cost analysis and reconciliation of expenses

· Contribute to the preparation of the annual financial statements, including being responsible for the preparation of individual note disclosures

Controls, KPIs and Assurance

· Provide responses and data for external and internal audits

· Collates various control KPIs for the monthly dashboard

· Manages in the balance sheet substantiation rolling assurance review program. Including the responsibility for escalation and follow up of any issues identified

Accounts Payable Coverage

· Cover the day-to-day activities of the accounts payable function, including employee expense claims. Ensuring that suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed terms and conditions and the Bank’s policies.

· Reconciliation of management reporting to statutory GL ledger for costs

· Assist with development of reporting output and data extraction from the GL (T24/Insight) into the reporting model (Workday Adaptive Planning);

Projects and Processes

· Participate and contribute to ad-hoc projects as required.

Support improvements in reporting efficiency and data extraction capabilities as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

· Qualified Accountant with hands on post qualification experience

· Strong controls background with experience in either external or internal audit

· Advanced Excel skills

· Good data and numeracy skills with attention to detail with ability to maintain accuracy at all times

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· The ability to work autonomously and take initiative in particular building / developing new processes and controls as the Bank’s systems or business change and evolve

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to ensure efficiency whilst balancing priorities
