Job Overview

For our hotels in Amsterdam and the surrounding area, Leonardo Hotels is looking for an HR Manager (4 days per week) as temporary replacement during maternity leave. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring the continuity of the HR organization in the region and act as a content expert and sparring partner for our General Managers and management teams.

You have a solid foundation in Dutch employment law and the Hospitality Collective Labour Agreement (Horeca cao), and you are able to guide complex HR matters in a practical and legally correct manner. In particular, you take a proactive and advisory role toward management when it comes to absenteeism management and prevention.

What will you be doing?
As an HR Manager, you are responsible for providing HR support to multiple hotels in the Amsterdam region. You work closely with the General Managers and support them with personnel matters, absenteeism cases, and employment law issues. You have an advisory role and ensure that HR processes run accurately and efficiently.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Advising management and supervisors on HR policy and the application of Dutch employment law and the Horeca collective labor agreement

  • Guiding and monitoring absenteeism processes in accordance with the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter), including 1st and 2nd track reintegration processes

  • Maintaining contact with external partners such as the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV), occupational health services, or associated specialists

  • Coordinating absenteeism cases and ensuring correct documentation and timely interventions

  • Aligning with internal stakeholders such as General Managers and management teams regarding personnel matters

  • Carefully weighing costs and benefits for the organization when making HR decisions and reintegration routes

  • Supporting second-line HR administration and reporting

  • Contributing to a healthy, safe, and professional working environment within the hotels
