Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Street Lighting Engineer to join our Roads Operations & Maintenance team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of street lighting systems across our road infrastructure network. You will work to ensure that all street lighting installations meet safety standards, energy efficiency requirements, and operational excellence while supporting the municipality's commitment to safe and well-lit public spaces.

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of existing street lighting infrastructure to identify defects, inefficiencies, and safety hazards
  • Analyze lighting performance data and recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs
  • Coordinate with contractors and maintenance teams to execute lighting installations, repairs, and replacements in a timely and organized manner
  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for street lighting projects using CAD and design software
  • Troubleshoot electrical and technical issues related to street lighting systems and develop effective solutions
  • Monitor and manage lighting maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime
  • Evaluate new lighting technologies, including LED systems, and recommend upgrades to improve sustainability and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with traffic safety and urban planning teams to ensure lighting designs support road safety objectives
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance metrics
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and best practices in electrical and infrastructure engineering
