Accounting Manager

What You Will Do:
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Perform day-to-day transactions, including journal entries
- Ensure GAAP compliance
- Perform electronic settlements, cash receipts and cheque runs
- Daily reconciliation of bank activity
- Posting service invoices for ancillary services
- Execute Month End process
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Work with direct reports to determine objectives and goals for each year, and advise on their progress to enhance staff professional development
- Handle personnel issues that relate to absenteeism, staff performance, and staff conflict
- Assist in the design and implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department’s workflow
- Train and advise new and existing employees of non-routine reporting transactions
- Develop more efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Respond to inquiries from the Controller, Director of Finance, and other high-level Managers
What You Will Need:
- Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related certification is required
- Requires 8-10 years’ experience
- Expertise in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Requires organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Requires attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- Required ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
- Requires ERP experience (in NetSuite or SAGE preferred)
- Experience in the automotive industry / automotive auction industry is preferred
