The Opportunity

Electrum is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Client Implementations Engineer to join our VAS team. This is a new role, which is designed to improve the efficiency and scalability of implementing our standard products and integrations for key clients. You will act as the central point of contact from project inception through to delivery, bridging the gap between customers and development teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

The Role

As a Client Implementations Engineer at Electrum, you will be the bridge between our cutting-edge software and our valued clients. You will apply your technical expertise to ensure our products are properly installed, configured, and seamlessly integrated. Your proactive support and hands-on troubleshooting will guarantee a positive and effective implementation experience for clients who need expert assistance.

Your deep understanding of client-specific configurations will be key to building strong relationships and driving client satisfaction.

Key Focus Areas

You'll be part of a critical initiative to help major clients like Capitec, Absa, Nedbank, and Investec integrate our services quickly and smoothly. This role is essential for helping Electrum scale our offerings, driving rapid adoption, and freeing up our core developer capacity for new innovations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Implementation and Deployment: Configure, deploy, and maintain standard services (Kubernetes, Helm charts, YAML, SQL, APIs) with minimal input from development teams.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients during integration and post-go-live, resolving technical issues related to API integrations, OAuth authentication, and connectivity.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients, providing expert assistance and proactive support throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Configuration and Compliance: Apply deep product knowledge to configure modules, ensure vendor compliance, and translate complex client requirements into precise configuration and customization specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough debugging, quality assurance, and testing of all client implementations to ensure product integrity and performance.
  • Process Improvement: Create, evolve, and refine tools and processes to support the most efficient and scalable client deployments.
  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal development teams to ensure successful project delivery and share client insights for product improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering (or 3+ years equivalent experience in application support, software implementation, or a similar role).
  • 2+ years working with or in a software development team.
  • Sound technical knowledge, particularly in APIs, system integration, authentication (OAuth), and basic networking/connectivity.
  • Ability to configure and debug software using helm charts, YAML, SQL, and other common configuration formats.
  • Experience working with docker, kubernetes, linux, bash, AWS and understanding basic Java code.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to convey technical concepts clearly to both developers and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Initiative and independence—able to own a project end-to-end.
  • Growth mindset—eager to learn and evolve the role as the team matures.
  • Comfortable being the “go-to” person on client implementations.
