Role description:

We seek a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial functions of a rapidly growing company portfolio organization, driving strategic financial planning, capital management, and operational excellence. The CFO will act as a key business partner to the CEO, Board, and leadership team, shaping financial strategy that aligns with aggressive growth ambitions and dynamic market conditions.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring proven expertise in managing financial operations across accounting, FP&A, treasury, risk, compliance, and investor relationships, with a strong focus on navigating India-specific regulatory, tax, and funding landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to enable rapid scaling and long-term value creation in the Indian and global markets.

Advise the CEO and Board on capital structure, funding strategies, and financial risk management that reflect evolving market dynamics and regulatory requirements.

Lead strategic initiatives including fundraising, IPO preparations tailored for India’s capital markets.

M&A and Corporate Finance

Lead end-to-end financial due diligence, valuation, and integration for domestic and cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.

Shape financial modelling and scenario analysis for inorganic growth opportunities.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis aligned with business KPIs.

Partner with commercial, operations, and product teams to translate market realities into actionable financial insights.

Accounting, Compliance & Taxation

Oversee the finance function ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), GST, corporate tax laws, and other statutory requirements.

Manage audits, liaison with tax authorities and regulatory bodies, and ensure robust internal controls.

 Treasury & Working Capital Optimization

Optimize cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships with Indian financial institutions.

Manage foreign exchange risks relevant to cross-border transactions and fundraising.

 Risk Management & Controls

Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks specific to the Indian business environment including regulatory, market, and operational risks.

Strengthen internal controls and compliance with corporate governance, anti-bribery laws, and data privacy norms.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or equivalent senior finance role preferably in high-growth Indian or regional firms.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CA/CPA is a must.

In-depth knowledge of Indian tax, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance best practices.

Proven experience in financial strategy, capital raising, and transaction advisory within India.

Strong command of financial modelling, valuation, and business partnering skills.

Exceptional communication and influencing skills to collaborate with investors, regulators, and executive leadership.
