Head of Business Applications
Job Overview
To lead the company's core enterprise systems, with an immediate, critical focus on the successful implementation and adoption of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP and CRM).
This role is accountable for ensuring that core business functions (Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, etc.) are successfully digitized and optimized via the Dynamics platform. While driving this initiative, you will also own the long-term digital transformation roadmap, ensuring that all application investments maximize efficiency, mitigate risk, and create market differentiation for HIG in Iraq.
Requirements
1. ERP/CRM Implementation & Optimization (Primary Focus)
Lead the end-to-end implementation and governance of new Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions (e.g., Finance & Operations, Business Central, and/or Sales/Customer Service).
Serve as the Solution Owner, translating complex business requirements into clear, functional designs and configurations within the D365 ERP and CRM modules.
Drive user adoption and process alignment across business units, ensuring successful data migration, system performance, and ongoing post-go-live support.
Manage the selection, relationship, and deliverables of all external Microsoft Dynamics implementation partners and system integrators.
2. Strategic Application Management & Governance
Develop, own, and enforce governance standards for the D365 ecosystem, including integrations, customizations, data integrity, and security policies.
Act as the primary interface between executive stakeholders and the technical delivery teams, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations regarding scope, budget, and timelines.
Lead organizational change efforts to ensure smooth, effective transition and cultural adoption of new core systems and processes.
3. Digital Transformation Roadmap (Secondary Focus)
Develop, maintain, and execute a clear, long-term digital transformation strategy extending beyond the initial Dynamics implementation.
Identify, prioritize, and manage the deployment of related strategic digital initiatives, such as leveraging the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate) for reporting and automation, and expanding digital interfaces.
Explore new technologies and digital trends that can create a competitive advantage, ensuring the company remains agile and innovative in the Iraqi market.
4. Risk Management & Compliance
Identify and mitigate digital risks associated with core applications, including cybersecurity, data governance, and system reliability.
Ensure all application projects and data handling comply with local, regional, and international regulatory standards.
5. Performance Tracking & Process Optimization
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for all major application systems and projects, ensuring they deliver measurable business value.
- Drive continuous improvement in system performance, process efficiency, and user satisfaction.
- Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for digital optimization.
- Design and implement new, digitally enabled processes that improve efficiency, customer experience, and data insights.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience leading complex IT projects, enterprise application management, or digital transformation.
- Proven track record of successfully leading at least one full-cycle, complex ERP implementation.
- Deep, practical expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O, Business Central, and/or Customer Engagement/Sales). Candidates must be able to speak confidently about architecture, configuration, and best practices within the Dynamics ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of core business processes in Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic thinking with ability to translate business goals into digital solutions.
- Strong project management skills (PMP, PRINCE2 certification is a plus).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Solid understanding of data security, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change.
- Knowledge of the Iraqi market and regional business environment is an advantage.
