The Senior Strategic & Monitoring Evaluation Officer is a member of the SI & E (Strategic Information & Evaluation) Department, responsible for:

  • Supporting the smooth introduction and implementation of the project’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system in their health district, including the development of original/intermediate tools, as well as data collection and management.

  • Supporting the implementation of good M&E practices in health facilities to ensure accurate measurement of performance progress.

  • Additionally, he/she will support the development of quality improvement projects in the region.

  • He/She will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and managing all staff under his/her supervision.

Key Responsabilities and Accountabilities

  • Support the development/update of monitoring and evaluation plans, systems, and M&E tools;

  • Support the implementation of appropriate M&E practices in line with standards and proper project monitoring in the area of operation according to the M&E plan;

  • Contribute to the collection, verification, analysis, and use of project data for report generation, advocacy, information sharing, and program improvement;

  • Provide technical support to staff and partners for data collection, analysis, and use of program data to generate reports and improve the program;

  • Coordinate the implementation of M&E capacity-building initiatives for staff and country partners;

  • Coordinate the implementation of the EGPAF Cameroon M&E plan;

  • Support the proper implementation of quality assurance strategies in accordance with EGPAF standards;

  • Support the generation of reports using high-quality data from the work areas (health facilities; health areas; district);

  • Coordinate the use of data for program decision-making and quality improvement;

  • Support proper data storage (hard copy and electronic) at site and district levels;

  • Assist health facilities and districts in data analysis and use for decision-making;

  • Coordinate the implementation of Data Quality Assurance (DQA) activities;

  • Ensure effective implementation of minimum SI & E standards as defined in the M&E plan;

  • Respond to data-related requests generated by database management teams or any team working on the project;

  • Facilitate regular data review sessions;

  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.
