Senior Scrum Master is one of the central roles to facilitate the project delivery. The Senior Scrum Master will directly manage 1-3 teams to deliver his product.
Responsibilites:
- Understand and apply Agile values and principles
- Help the teams understand and apply: Scaled Agile roles, events, artifacts, and the underlying principles/values, Value-driven priority, self-organization, empirical process improvement
- Help stakeholders understand planning in complex environments and points of interaction to influence decisions and priorities
- Facilitate teams’ events as needed: make clear the Purpose and Outcomes, design the meeting flow to support desired outcomes, facilitate full participation
- Actively represent the teams, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business (connected stakeholders), and teams morale is high
- Teach, Mentor, and Coach (context tailored solution): Help people get better at their work, deliver more value, resolve a conflict, or problem Develop other SMs
- Do agile induction to new team members
- Ensure the focus of the teams on the agreed Product Vision
- Ensure just in time backlog readiness
- Help teams apply agile sizing. Inspect and adapt for more accurate sizing that helps improve predictability
- Helping in the evolution of the Product Roadmap: detailed on the short term, key direction on the medium-term, and options on the long term
- Aware of costs, timescales. Inspect and adapt team capacity and allocation.
- Provide forecast on team availability for both client as well as internal processes as needed.
- Work with POs and SMs to harmonise the planning of connected products
- Ensure management of external dependencies in planning.
- Make visible the progress of the release of the product
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, impediments, and dependencies (including dependencies across systems and platforms) which might impact the success of product delivery.
- Follow up with the appropriate stakeholders on risks and dependencies with external teams
- Coordinate the team(s) towards successful product delivery and client satisfaction.
- Ensure that the delivery meets the client’s quality expectations.
- Drive the creation and implementation of the Common Definition of Done and Common Definition of Ready and update when needed
- Contribute to the decisions around shaping team structure for optimising delivery
- Act as a driver for changes at multiple teams' level by encouraging and leading change initiatives towards the continuous improvement of process and delivery - Take proactive actions in assessing Customer satisfaction and work together with the account leadership team in addressing customer concerns
