Job Overview

Position: Senior Business Analyst  
Location: Costa Rica 


We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to act as a trusted business partner, working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to drive and support strategic initiatives across our client’s e-commerce and commercial platforms. 

This role requires a senior-level professional who can independently lead requirements discussions, quickly understand complex business needs, and translate them into clear, actionable documentation, while maintaining a high-level understanding of technology without being deeply technical.

To excel in this role, you must be able to: 

  • Lead requirements gathering efforts by working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and users to understand business needs and priorities. 
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, structured documentation, including user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria. 
  • Serve as a trusted business partner, bridging the gap between business users and development teams to ensure alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle. 
  • Support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from discovery and design through development, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help shape solutions, provide input on user experience considerations, and support early-stage mockups or wireframes. 
  • Ensure requirements are clearly defined, understood, and traceable across Jira and Confluence. 
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple initiatives while adapting quickly to changing business priorities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Independently analyze business needs and translate them into: 
  • Business and functional requirements 
  • User stories, Jira tickets, and acceptance criteria 
  • Functional breakdowns and documentation 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the offshore development team. 
  • Partner closely with e-commerce product owners to drive new initiatives and enhancements. 
  • Provide guidance on how solutions should be structured and presented from a user and business perspective. 
  • Support and guide initiatives across: 
  • E-commerce platforms 
  • Brand and subsidiary websites 
  • Cornerstone and marketing-related web projects 
  • Contribute to early-stage solution shaping by: 
  • Creating or supporting rough mockups or wireframes 
  • Helping define user interface expectations before development begins 
  • Support the full SDLC, including: 
  • Requirements definition 
  • Design collaboration, creating mock-ups 
  • Development alignment 
  • Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) 
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent initiatives.  

Qualifications: 

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

Experience: 

  • 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role. 
  • Strong experience leading requirements discussions with business stakeholders. 
  • Proven ability to independently gather, analyze, and document complex business and functional requirements. 
  • Extensive experience writing user stories and managing work through Jira. 
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 
  • Agile and Scrum experience working with offshore or distributed development teams. 
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Ability to quickly grasp business concepts and guide discussions toward clear outcomes. 

Technical Experience 

  • This role requires strong technical awareness 
  • High-level understanding of: 
  • Website and e-commerce platforms 
  • Backend systems and databases (no SQL querying required) 
  • Exposure to: 
  • SAP Hybris (core enterprise / e-commerce system) 
  • Microsoft Azure (cloud platform) 
  • .NET and SQL application development 
  • Strong familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem: 
  • Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) 
  • Experience using: 
  • Jira and Confluence for documentation and project tracking 
  • Tools for mock-ups and prototypes such as Visio 

 

Related Qualifications 

  • Experience with e-commerce or digital platform environments. 
  • Familiarity with commercial construction, metal buildings, or industrial solutions. 
  • Familiarity with visualization or 3D tools. 
  • Experience supporting multi-brand or subsidiary website initiatives. 
  • Prior experience in SAP-based environments.

Reporting & Collaboration 

  • Reports directly to the business lead. 
  • Dotted-line collaboration with e-commerce product owners. 
  • Acts as a senior point of contact for business analysis activities.
