Job Overview

Seeking Grade 3 Instrument Technician in a part-time or casual capacity at Epworth Geelong, Waurn Ponds.  This role is to provide set-up for consumables and instruments and will be reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager. Experience working in CSSD is a requirement for this role will and will involve contributing to infection prevention and control as well as overall patient safety by ensuring the quality of reusable medical devices. 

You will make an impact by:

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of service to meet the specific daily operational needs
  • Ensuring accurate processes are undertaken and documented
  • Liaise with theatre leadership team regarding daily set up requirements and problem-solving as required
  • Preparation of consumable and instrument set-ups required for patient care

You will have:

  • A minimum of a Certificate III Health – Sterilising Practice qualification
  • A commitment to excellent customer service and quality improvement
  • Willingness and ability to work within a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills

Located all on the one level we have the Operating Theatre, Cath Lab, ICU and Day Surgery allowing excellent patient flow and best patient care. As there is an increased demand for the excellence Epworth Geelong provide to its patients and VMO’s, our operating theatres are continuing to expand. Currently our specialities include Orthopaedics, Vascular, General, Macs Facs, ENT, Pain, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, Neurosurgery and Urology. We operate Monday to Friday with emergencies on weekends which helps provide flexible rostering, giving our staff an excellent work/life balance. With education as a key motivator for our department we provide multiple opportunities for our staff to develop new skills as well as continue to build on their already strong knowledge base.
