Job Overview

Epworth Eastern is seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our Intensive Care Unit. In this key leadership role you will support the Nurse Unit Manager in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while contributing positively to a  high-performing and engaged nursing team. 

As an ANUM, you will play a pivitol role in providing both clinical and operational leadership within the Intensive Care Unit.  You will help ensure the smooth and effective  running of the unit while fostering an environment and culture that champions excellence, compassion, and innovation. 

In this role you will: 

  • Lead the delivery of safe, timely and evidence-based nursing care 
  • Support and develop nursing staff through education, coaching and effective leadership 
  • Coordinate patient flow, resource allocation and day to day operational efficiency 
  • Advocate for best practice models of care and continuous quality improvement  
  • Maintain a safe clinical environment and promote a culture of accountability 
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with staff, VMOs, patients and families 
  • Act as a delegate for the Nurse Unit Manager when required 

This position plays a significant part in advancing  Epworth's strategic goals by enhancing patient experiences, supporting staff excellence, and strengthening multidisciplinary relationships. 

We are seeking an experienced clinician who leads by example and thrives in a dynamic, face paced environment. Who will bring a passion for patient-centred care, team engagement, and operational effectiveness. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse  
  • Relevant post-registration clinical experience 
  • Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing  
  • Well-developed leadership, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise with a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement 
  • Strong understanding of NSQHS Standards and clinical governance principles 
  • Ability to support organisational change and contribute positively to  workplace culture 
  • Sound knowledge of OH&S , relevant legislation, and healthcare award frameworks 
  • Recent (within 12 months) experience in clinical leadership
