If you are a Registered Nurse (RN) with aspirations of working in the perioperative environment, or a nurse with previous theatre experience who would like to return to the workforce, the Epworth perioperative Introduction to Specialty Practice program (ISP) may be for you.
This highly sought-after program is designed to meet the specific theoretical and practical needs of a nurse wishing to pursue or further their career in the perioperative setting.
The ISP program:
- Is a 12-month program up to 1.0 EFT, commencing Monday 20th July.
- Will introduce and expand on the concepts of perioperative nursing in either Anaesthetics/PACU or Scrub/Scout areas
- Enables participants to develop an understanding of the principles and practice of perioperative nursing and ensure they have attained a satisfactory level of competency to work in a safe and effective manner
- Is delivered using a combination of theory, simulation and clinical exposure to consolidate and assess knowledge and skill
- Commences with a study block where pre and post reading material will be provided
- Includes performance appraisals and regular feedback at various intervals throughout the program
- Provides a pathway to ongoing learning and development opportunities available through the Brooks Academy after successful completion of this program

You will have:
- Successfully completed a graduate program
- Have 2 years acute clinical experience post completion of a graduate program
- Have a commitment to learning and upskilling in this specialised area, attending all study days and course requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Australian Citizenship / Permanent Residency; OR New Zealand Citizenship
