🚀 Founding Marketing/Growth Associate - Remote (AI EdTech SaaS)

EQL Edtech is recruiting for our client

EQL Edtech is recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing, mission-driven, remote AI EdTech SaaS startup. Our client's AI-powered platform is already used by thousands of K-12 teachers, saving them 80% of their grading time and improving feedback for hundreds of thousands of students.

We are seeking a foundational Marketing/Growth Associate or Digital Marketing Specialist to build their marketing engine from the ground up. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where you’ll develop the playbooks to scale a teacher-led, bottom-up growth model, leveraging Product-Led Growth (PLG) principles.

If you are a scrappy, creative, and data-driven marketer, content creator, or community manager passionate about education technology, this is your chance to join a founding team and shape the future of a high-impact startup.

  • Recruiter: EQL Edtech (This application is with us first)
  • Location: Fully Remote (Global)
    • Note: This role is budgeted for a global, non-US-based candidate. We actively encourage applications from regions like South Africa, LATAM (e.g., Argentina, Brazil, Colombia), South Africa, and Eastern Europe (e.g., Poland, Romania).
  • Type: Full-time, Direct Hire with our Client | AI EdTech | SaaS | Education Technology | Startup

📈 What You’ll Do

  • Content Marketing & Community Management:
    • Become the voice of the brand: Create compelling, authentic content (blog posts, case studies, newsletters, social media marketing, SEO articles) that resonates deeply with US K-12 teachers.
    • Build and manage a vibrant online community of teacher advocates and "super-users."
  • Demand Generation, Lead Generation, & Nurturing:
    • Develop and execute multi-channel digital marketing campaigns (email marketing, social media, webinars) to generate a pipeline of qualified leads (MQLs) for the sales team.
    • Design and manage email drip campaigns to nurture free users toward school-wide adoption.
  • Product-Led Growth (PLG) & Analytics:
    • Analyze user data to identify friction points and growth opportunities within the product.
    • Develop and optimize referral programs and other word-of-mouth (WOM) loops that leverage a satisfied teacher base.
  • Marketing Operations & Sales Enablement:
    • Manage the marketing technology (MarTech) stack (e.g., social schedulers, email platforms, CRM).
    • Create marketing and sales assets (copywriting, one-pagers, case studies, presentations) to support the sales team in closing school and district-level deals.
    • Track and report on key marketing metrics (KPIs), turning data into actionable insights.

💡 About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed startup dedicated to solving one of the biggest challenges in K-12 education. Their AI-powered platform is a "grading assistant" that helps teachers save up to 80% of their grading time, allowing them to provide personalized, high-quality feedback to students more efficiently. Their platform has already processed millions of student assignments and is growing rapidly through passionate, organic word-of-mouth from educators.

Their Mission: Give teachers more time to focus on teaching and help every student reach their full potential.

💬 The Interview Process

  1. Initial Screening Call (with EQL Edtech)
  2. Video-ask
  3. Video Call with CEO (with our client)
  4. Short Take-Home Task
  5. Final Deep-Dive Interview (with our client's team)

Requirements

📋 Non-Negotiable Requirements

  • Native-level English: Exceptional, world-class written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Core Marketing Experience: 1-3+ years in a marketing role, with proven, hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, community management, or demand generation.
  • K-12 / EdTech Sector Experience: You must have direct professional experience in the K-12 ecosystem. This means either:
    1. Experience as a former K-12 teacher (especially English/Humanities).
    2. Direct experience marketing to US teachers/schools at an EdTech SaaS company (e.g., Nearpod, Newsela, etc.).
    • Applications without this specific K-12/EdTech experience will not be considered.
  • Startup DNA: You are a highly self-motivated "doer" with a 'figure-it-out' mindset. You are comfortable with the ambiguity and fast pace of an early-stage startup.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using modern SaaS and GenAI tools to work efficiently.

🌟 Bonus Points (Highly Desired)

  • You have specific experience with Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies.
  • You have experience marketing to curriculum directors or school administrators (not just teachers).
  • You are a former English/Humanities teacher who has since moved into a marketing career.
