Remote Bankruptcy Paralegal

Equivity is seeking an experienced Remote Bankruptcy Paralegal to support attorneys handling both consumer and business bankruptcy matters, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13. 

This is a W-2 remote position offering competitive hourly compensation and the opportunity to work across varied bankruptcy matters in a fast-moving, client-driven environment. Candidates must be comfortable operating independently while maintaining high standards of responsiveness and accuracy 

What You’ll Do 

• Draft and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, statements, and related pleadings 

• Support Chapter 11 matters, including preparation of voluntary petitions, schedules, statements of financial affairs, monthly operating reports, disclosure statements, and plans of reorganization (Subchapter 5 experience strongly preferred) 

• Prepare means tests, repayment plans, reaffirmation agreements, amendments, and related filings 

• Prepare complete 341 meeting and hearing packets, including trustee-required documentation, and ensure all required materials are submitted timely 

• Communicate with clients, trustees, courts, and creditors to collect documents and move cases forward 

• Use platforms such as BestCase and Clio to maintain case accuracy and track progress 

• Stay ahead of deadlines and ensure cases run smoothly from start to finish 

About You 

• Bachelor’s degree required 

• Minimum 3 years of recent bankruptcy paralegal experience 

• Direct experience with Chapters 7 and 13 required 

• Chapter 11 experience required; Subchapter 5 strongly preferred 

• Proficiency with BestCase, Clio, Microsoft Office, and Adobe 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to manage multiple cases independently in a remote environment 

• Professional home office setup
