Role Overview
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for evaluating and restructuring our existing AWS and Azure environments to align with best practices in security, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. This role will operate independently and serve as the subject matter expert for cloud infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities
· Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing AWS and Azure environments
· Design and implement cloud architecture aligned with best practices
· Develop and enforce cloud governance standards and deployment frameworks
· Evaluate consolidation to a single cloud platform where appropriate
· Strengthen cloud security posture (IAM, network segmentation, encryption, logging, monitoring)
· Optimize and control cloud spending through governance and FinOps practices
· Build standardized infrastructure patterns and documentation
· Implement infrastructure-as-code where applicable
· Collaborate with engineering, IT, and leadership stakeholders
· Provide ongoing operational support and improvements

Basic Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of cloud infrastructure experience
  • Deep expertise in AWS and/or Azure
  • Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect)
  • Experience auditing and rebuilding cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks and best practices
  • Experience designing scalable, resilient cloud architectures
  • Cost optimization and cloud governance experience
  • Strong knowledge of networking (VPCs, VNets, routing, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep, etc.)
  • Ability to operate independently and drive strategic decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud. We are just getting started!
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, CMMC, ITAR, SOC 2)
  • Experience with hybrid/on-prem integrations
  • Experience supporting engineering workloads (CI/CD, compute-heavy workloads)
