The HR Generalist serves as a key partner in delivering efficient, compliant, and employee-focused HR support across the full scope of Human Resources functions. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role is responsible for administering day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding and orientation, MI gaming licensing processing, employee leaves, payroll coordination, HR documentation, and responding to employee inquiries. The HR Generalist also supports employee relations matters, assists with policy and process updates, and collaborates closely with Operations and other internal partners to ensure smooth HR service delivery. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the employee experience, maintaining accurate HR data and records, and contributing to HR initiatives that support organizational goals.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for end-to-end personnel administration across the full HR function, including employee lifecycle documentation, payroll coordination, licensing, safety, leaves of absence, tax forms, benefit enrollment forms, termination documents, and other required records.
• Maintain accurate and timely records for PTO balances, Vacation, Sick Leave, Bereavement Leave, Maternity Leave, and other applicable leave categories.
• Manage MI gaming licensing processes for all new hires and current employees; liaise with third-party licensing partners and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely submission.
• Support and facilitate New Hire Onboarding and Orientation, ensuring a smooth, engaging, and compliant new hire experience. • Assist with weekly/monthly/annual HR metrics, reporting, and KPIs as directed.
• Maintain multiple HR data systems and platforms; ensure consistency, accuracy, and up-to-date employee records across all systems.
• Organize, retain, and maintain both digital and hard-copy HR files in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
• Process and enter personnel transactions including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, and salary adjustments.
• Serve as a main point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, payroll, benefits, leaves, licensing, and general HR support.
• Provide initial support in employee relations matters, including documentation, fact-finding, and escalation to the HR Manager as appropriate.
• Partner with Operations leadership to align on policies, employee processes, communications, and escalations.
• Assist with payroll preparation by gathering and validating data, processing changes, and resolving payroll-related questions or discrepancies.
• Liaise with Legal, Payroll, and Accounting to ensure timely processing of required documents and compliance with legal standards and deadlines.
• Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR initiatives, policies, and procedures that support operational needs and evolving studio dynamics.
• Contribute to projects that enhance employee engagement, employee experience, and HR service improvements in partnership with the HR Manager.
• Promote Evolution’s employer brand and reinforce positive, inclusive, and transparent communication with all employees.
• Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with employees at all levels, serving as a central communication point and resource within the studio.
• Participate in HR department projects and support additional duties as assigned.
