International substation projects at the forefront of renewable energy!

Are you an experienced electrical engineer looking for interesting and challenging technical assignments? Join VEO’s Power Distribution team and take a key role in electrical system design for international substation projects primarily delivered to Norway and Sweden.

Due to strong growth, we are now looking for a Senior System Engineer to strengthen our Engineering Unit. In this role, you will work as a system-level expert in challenging and varied projects, combining hands-on design work with technical coordination and close collaboration across project teams.

Your role

As a Senior System Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical system design of substations as part of international delivery projects.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • System-level design of substation solutions within project teams

  • Design of control and protection systems, cabling, and related technical solutions

  • Preparation of functional diagrams and system documentation

  • Technical coordination of design work in cooperation with the Lead Engineer

  • Participation in testing, commissioning, and technical documentation of deliveries

  • Contributing to design decisions across different project phases

The role offers significant responsibility and independence. At the same time, you will be supported by a strong and experienced engineering community.

What we expect from you

You will succeed in this role if you can bring solid technical expertise and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. This is reflected in the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Proven experience in electrical design, preferably related to substations, power distribution, or commissioning

  • Strong understanding of substation operations and system-level design

  • Ability to take ownership of your tasks and manage complex technical entities

  • Experience working independently as well as collaboratively in project teams

  • Fluent in English and fluent in Finnish or Swedish, proficiency in Norwegian is considered a particular advantage

  • Willingness to travel when required

You are comfortable working in a dynamic project environment, can handle multiple tasks in parallel, and maintain attention to detail even under time pressure.
