We are looking for a Senior SQL Developer with deep expertise in SQL Server (SSMS) to support a large-scale migration project. The role involves analyzing, rewriting, and optimizing stored procedures, views, and scripts in SQL Server, and collaborating on the transition of this logic into Snowflake. 

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in SQL development, understands data modeling concepts, and can proactively work through complex logic with minimal supervision. 

Responsibilities 

• Review, analyze, and understand existing SQL Server stored procedures, views, and functions. 

• Translate T-SQL logic into Snowflake SQL equivalents, using set-based patterns instead of procedural loops. 

• Create and optimize tables, views, and queries in Snowflake for migration and reporting needs. 

• Debug and refactor complex legacy SQL code to improve maintainability and performance. 
• Work with business analysts and data engineers to validate that migrated objects deliver correct results. 
• Perform unit testing and ensure reconciliation between SQL Server outputs and Snowflake outputs. 
• Document migration logic, assumptions, and deviations from legacy code. 
• Identify potential risks or inefficiencies in migration and propose better approaches. 
• Work independently and proactively flag issues or opportunities for improvement. 

Requirements

Required Skills

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) 

• Hands-on experience with Matillion and/or SnapLogic in production environments. 

• Snowflake SQL knowledge (QUALIFY, MERGE, semi-structured data handling). 

• Experience with data governance and lineage documentation. 

• Experience with data quality and cleansing frameworks. 

• Experience working in Agile or migration project teams.
