Job Overview

Help us digitalise international freight transportation!

Founded in 2017, Ovrsea is a new generation freight forwarder that uses technology to simplify and optimize international transportation for companies. We support more than 700 companies such as Engie, Vinci, Devialet, Sézane or even Nuxe in more than 60 countries in their international freight transport.

We allow our customers to manage all their transport issues in a few clicks from our web interface, from quotation to invoicing, by digitizing the entire transport tracking experience. We have also developed an in-house platform to facilitate the operational management of our customers’ transportation needs in order to meet their requirements in record time.

Ovrsea, a fast growing company…

With already 120 employees worldwide, we will continue our growth in 2026 as part of a merger with two other freight forwarders, forming a group of more than 800 people across four continents.
The Operations team 🚢

The Operations (Ops) Team is responsible for organising and coordinating the international transportation needs of our clients. Serving as the primary point of contact, the Ops team acts as a bridge between our customers and our carefully chosen service providers. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional customer experience at OVRSEA. Reactivity, excellence, pedagogy, and customer awareness are the guiding principles that drive our team.

This position is based in Milano.

Your missions as an Operations Intern at OVRSEA

As an Operations Intern, you will support the coordination of international transport activities, working closely with our Operations team and external service providers, including agents, shipping and trucking carriers, and customs brokers.

You will assist in keeping clients informed about their shipment progress, help monitor key milestones, support the team in resolving operational challenges, and contribute to identifying the best possible solutions when needed.

Committed to delivering high-quality service, prompt responsiveness, and reliability, you will contribute to OVRSEA’s growth by supporting the team with the following responsibilities:

👉 Global transport operations for large imports or exports (70%)
- Support the team in managing a portfolio of customers.
- Assist in organising and coordinating air, sea, road, and rail transport.
- Help monitor shipments, anticipate potential issues, and contribute to proactive problem-solving.
👉 Customer success management (20%)
- Support the main point of contact in communication with existing clients.
- Help identify potential upsell opportunities.
- Encourage and assist clients in increasing their use of the platform.
👉 Development and structuring (10%)
- Support supplier relationship management (carriers & agents worldwide).
- Contribute to research and knowledge sharing within the team (articles, market updates, best practices).
- Assist in improving and refining operational processes.

This is a paid internship with a strong opportunity for a full-time position upon successful completion of the program.

Are you the one?

- You are looking for a 6-month internship, with the option to transition to a full-time position afterward.
- You are interested in the transport industry and a startup environment. You are curious by nature.
- You can handle challenging situations: Ops days in transportation are exciting but intense. Lots of issues and requests at the same time, and non-stop deadlines. You think solutions rather than problems, and you are able to take initiative.
- You have excellent communication skills.
- You are fluent in Italian and have a good English level.

What will this job bring you?

- Relational skills: you will interact with people from more than 70+ countries (customers, service providers), from various industries and company sizes.
- We value a strong learning environment at OVRSEA. Continuous learning is very important to us, which will allow you to solve rather complicated problems.
- We have a team with different backgrounds: some experienced in the world of transport and others who have never done it before. This balance guarantees a dynamic and close-knit atmosphere in the face of an intense day-to-day.
