As a Process Engineering Co-op, you will work with experts in the manufacturing process from raw material to finished product. The position will work with multiple departments and processes to drive continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and apply Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving, and Six Sigma techniques, work on cross-functional teams, learn a multitude of manufacturing processes, and expand one’s engineering knowledge in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Improvements: identification, evaluation, and justification
- Process development, standardization, optimization, and innovation
- Learn and apply key quality tools including Capability Analysis, Gage R+R, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Standard work and visual aid development
- Line balancing and time studies
- Plant simulation and layout optimization
- Material flow and presentation
- Data manipulation and collection
- Production metrics tracking
- Value Stream optimization
- Lead Time and cost reductions
- 5S/Ergonomic/Safety/Team participation
- CAD Modeling and drafting (AutoCAD & Solid Edge)
- Six Sigma Projects, Root Cause Analysis, and problem solving
- Process parameter and specification development
- Participate in Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training/certification process
- May perform other duties as assigned
Successful candidates will have:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program focusing on Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Ability to work in a cross functional environment
- Self-directed and motivated for completion of projects
- Be able to schedule and complete projects from start to finish
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration on a daily basis. Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors are seasonally in nature.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required and pursuing a degree in business, engineering or related field.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills: Computer literate.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence.
