ABOUT THE JOB

 

YOUR ROLE:   To be cross trained in all positions of the Paint Line. Back up group lead functions and  filling in as needed for any related position.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the training and certification program in the BPO area
  • Back-fill Group Leader job positions and responsibilities in Group Leaders’ absences
  • Certified in all jobs in / around the BPO assigned areas to back-fill open positions
  • Work with Group Leaders & Quality personnel to resolve quality issues with corrective actions
  • As required, conduct daily and routine Quality Audits per established procedure & document results
  • Monitor and support material flow from and to the assigned area(s)
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives around Safety, Quality, and Productivity in the BPO area
  • Associate will have and or is able to obtain an OSHA required TT forklift license
  • As required, support Group Leaders & Supervisor in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Must be able to work scheduled and unplanned overtime to support daily objectives
  • As required, monitor hour by hour production charts & progress reporting issues to Group Leaders
  • Lead and help support Safety and housekeeping initiatives in the BPO area
  • Assist Group Leaders to complete all required shift production paperwork as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to you by your Supervisor or Group Leader

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • High School Graduate/HSE or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Obtain or have forklift license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Manage ambiguity while working through stressful situations
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to work with others

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Lowe’s Paint Line experience

Great Plains experience

  • Include but are not limited to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, irregular work schedule/overtime, multi-tasking, working closely with others as a team, and tedious or exacting work.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration daily.  Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Ability to run respective inventory system (Great Plains, E21, MES etc.).

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to complete daily Pre-Use Inspection Sheets.
