Risk Operator

FP Markets Group of Companies is a well-established multi-regulated broker, founded in Australia, offering traders access to CFD trading on Forex, Indices, Commodities, Stocks and Cryptocurrencies. We are growing and looking to recruit a Full-time Risk Operator in Australia office - a certified Great Place to Work®.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the smooth operation of trading platforms and risk systems.
• Manage client positions in real time, ensuring exposures remain within risk policy limits.
• Execute hedging transactions with Prime Brokers and manage related funding/reconciliation processes.
• Perform margin calls, liquidations, and account “clear down” procedures.
• Conduct daily handovers with the European risk team.
• Monitor and investigate real-time risk and market alerts.
• Authorize and review trades in line with FP Markets’ Market Misconduct Policy.
• Facilitate stock lending and short-selling transactions.
• Execute client orders and deal directly with Prime Brokers, technology providers, and clients.
• Produce and present risk-related reports for senior management.
• Support product development and other project work as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform or trade-related issues.
• Identify and monitor toxic order flow, escalating where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Prior experience in trading, risk management, or dealing within a financial services/CFD/FX environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, order management, and financial markets.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to liaise effectively with clients, Prime Brokers, and internal teams.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shift work, to support global operations.
• Strong technical skills; experience with trading platforms and risk management systems is an advantage.
