- Lead and manage complex tax advisory engagements across the full transaction lifecycle, including planning, tax due diligence, structuring advice, and execution support.
- Advise clients on federal, state, and (where applicable) international tax implications of transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and reorganizations.
- Develop and deliver high-level tax structuring recommendations, financial impact analyses, and risk mitigation strategies that align with client business objectives.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and presenting complex tax concepts clearly to executive audiences.
- Oversee engagement budgets, timelines, resource allocation, deliverable quality, billing, and collections.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., valuation, accounting, finance, legal) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop managers, senior associates, and staff to ensure technical excellence and professional growth.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and networking at industry events.
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license
- 8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or professional services with a focus on tax and transactions.
- Demonstrated expertise in tax due diligence, structuring advice, and transaction-related tax compliance.
- Proven track record leading teams and managing complex client engagements.
- Strong technical tax knowledge across federal and multi-state issues; experience with international tax is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and client presentation abilities.
- Excellent project and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to build and maintain confident client relationships.
- Team leadership, mentorship, and staff development orientation.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g, CCH Axcess) and Microsoft Office Suite
