Could you be the person we’re looking for to join our team in Bristol as our new MATS Operator? We want to hear from you!

 

The MATS Operator is responsible for supporting safe, compliant and efficient operations for Marine & Terminal Services clients.

 

The role provides a key operational link between vessels, terminals and the MATS team, ensuring vessel attendance, cargo transfer activities, documentation, communication and QHSSE requirements are completed to the required standard.

 

The role is essential in maintaining service quality, avoiding vessel delays and supporting customer satisfaction.

 

What would your day at GAC look like?

  • Assisting Jetty Operators to ensure vessels are safely berthed, correctly moored, and aligned with shore loading arms and terminal connections.

  • Operating valves and monitoring vessel discharge operations ensuring all hourly and safety checks are being completed.

  • Completing regular line walks to monitor for leaks and adjusting connections as required.

  • Completion and distribution of operational documentation and acting as a key link between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring information is communicated professionally and efficiently.

  • Carrying out tank measurement activities, including dipping and ullaging, to accurately determine product quantities and identify water content as required.

  • Sampling of both vessel and shore tanks (working at height), testing of products to ensure products are within client specification and recording and communicating the results as required.

  • Communicating with vessel representatives to coordinate discharge activities and support the safe and timely movement of products.

  • Participating in internal and external training programmes, keeping competencies up to date and ensuring training records are maintained accurately.

  • Promoting a positive safety culture by reporting hazards, near misses, incidents and safety concerns promptly.

  • Travelling to a variety of locations as required to deliver terminal and marine services
