Job Overview

•  Responsible for supplier market research and obtaining documentation for solicitation efforts (drawings, scorecards, historical purchases). 

•  Evaluates supplier information to determine most desirable suppliers. 

•  The Strategic Sourcing Specialist II will help drive the completion of compliant FAR15 packages and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment with program requirements.

 

• Execute FAR15 subcontracts IAW FAR, DFARS and applicable regulations.

• Support negotiations (price, terms & conditions)

• Manage key program suppliers.

• Build supplier strategies to enable the best overall value to client

 

YOU MUST HAVE

 

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, L&C, Business, or Finance

 

WE VALUE

 

• Bachelor's Degree

• DoD procurement subcontracting experience (FAR15)

• Detailed understanding of DoD Procurement Life Cycle

• Experience with Federal Acquisitions Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations

• Strong negotiation skills and processes

• Supply chain experience

• Procurement experience within defense, aerospace, or similar industry

• Experience managing subcontracts FFP, CP, CPIF, etc.

• Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD)

• Ability to understand and negotiate terms and conditions

1. FAR15 / DoD Procurement Experience

 

“Can you describe your experience supporting or executing FAR15‑compliant subcontracting activities (including documentation, supplier data collection, or cost/price analysis)? Please share specific examples.”

Purpose: Confirms actual hands‑on FAR/DFARS experience, not just familiarity.

 

2. Supplier Research & Evaluation

 

“Tell me about a time you performed supplier market research or evaluated supplier data (drawings, scorecards, historical purchases). How did you determine which suppliers were most suitable for a program?”

Purpose: Assesses ability to analyze supplier capability, past performance, and risk—core to this role.

 

3. Negotiation & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

 

“What is your experience supporting or participating in price or T&C negotiations, and how have you worked with cross‑functional teams (e.g., pricing, programs, engineering) to build negotiation positions?”

Purpose: Screens for negotiation readiness and the ability to align with internal stakeholders on compliant subcontract strategies.
