Nurse Unit Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our Fertility First (Hurstville) clinic on a full time basis. 

Fertility First Nurses provide frontline care to our patients, supporting them along every step of their Fertility treatment. This role is unique, you be working in an office environment interacting with our patients both over the phone and face to face. Alongside clinical duties, a significant proportion of your role will involve providing patient care, support and education.

On a daily basis your role will involve:

• Leading the nursing function of the clinic as Nurse Unit Manager — overseeing clinical governance, managing escalations, driving consistency in patient care standards, and championing team engagement and professional development
• Building and managing a high-performing nursing team through recruitment, onboarding, performance management, rostering and day-to-day operational oversight
• Establishing and maintaining clinical policies, procedures and quality improvement initiatives in line with regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Acting as the escalation point for complex clinical and patient experience matters, partnering with the Clinic Manager to resolve issues effectively
• Conducting face-to-face patient interviews and consultations, providing personalised education, emotional support and clinical guidance throughout the IVF journey
• Managing patient phone consultations including results delivery, medication queries and ongoing support at key treatment milestones
• Collaborating with fertility specialists, scientists and allied health professionals to coordinate care and contribute to tailored treatment planning
• Providing clear patient education on the self-administration of IVF medications, ensuring confidence and safety in home protocols
• Maintaining accurate patient records, clinical data entry and general administration in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards
