Gersh Autism Academy is seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist (Level 1) to join our Seattle schools. This role is responsible for providing daily, on-site IT support to faculty, staff, and students, while also assisting with remote support for our East Coast and Puerto Rico teams. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a genuine interest in IT systems and workflows, and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
*Please note, this position requires travel between locations in Issaquah and Bellevue, WA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for end-users (faculty, staff, and students) across devices, software, and network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.) and Windows-based systems.
- Manage user accounts, password resets, and permissions through Microsoft 365 Admin.
- Assist in setup, maintenance, and imaging of computers, printers, and classroom technology.
- Support video conferencing systems, interactive boards, and other classroom technologies.
- Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level IT staff when necessary.
- Provide remote support to Gersh Academy’s East Coast and Puerto Rico sites as scheduled or assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions within the IT ticketing system.
- Contribute to IT documentation, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in IT projects, deployments, and ongoing process improvements.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 1+ year of IT support experience or equivalent education/training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and Windows operating systems.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, and security principles.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across locations.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting users in an educational environment.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote management tools.
- Basic networking knowledge (VLANs, IP configuration, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to pursue).
