Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, manage the month-end close process, and supervise accounting staff. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and strengthening internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior leadership
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or food production environments preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
